Two children, a boy and a girl (names withheld) from a catholic school in Port Harcourt managed to escape a kidnapping attempt on Friday.
The incident was said to have happened at about 6:30am in the morning when they were going to school.
According to information at our disposal, the children who are siblings boarded a commercial tricyle from their residence at Eliowhani town going towards Rumudara junction in the city and half way into the journey, the driver diverted to unknown destination.
It was learnt that the boy, a JSS2 student, sensing danger quickly jumped off the tricyle, leaving only the girl.
It was also learnt that the girl, a SS1 student, later jumped out when they ran into a traffic jam on the way.
According to the information, the boy sustained injuries on his head and arm while his sister broke one of her legs.
