Three female police officers have been arrested for allegedly extorting motorists under the Rumuokoro flyover in Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital.
The state police command Public Relations Officer, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, disclosed this in a statement issued on Thursday.
SP Iringe-Koko in the statement named the officers as as Inspector Sarah Anendei, Inspector Caroline Promise, and Inspector Christiana Jatau.
She said the officers were arrested following a coordinated monitoring patrol by operatives from the Commissioner of Police Monitoring Unit.
The PPRO further said two of the officers, Inspectors Caroline Promise and Christiana Jatau, were arrested while conducting this unprofessional behaviour while in plain clothes which contravenes police standards.
