The Executives and members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Rivers State Council, have expressed joy and gratitude to God as their former chairman and Hon. Commissioner for Information and Communications, Pastor Paulinus Nsirim, marks his birthday today.
The Union, in a statement signed by its chairman and secretary, comrades Stanley Job Stanley and Ike Wigodo respectively, congratulated Pastor Nsirim on his birthday and wished him more successful years in life.
The statement described the Rivers State spokesman as a thoroughbred journalist and image maker who has brought his professional value to bear on his stewardship as a commissioner in Rivers State.
The union recalled the recent intervention of the commissioner in the election impasse that almost crippled the union in the state, noting that his timely and father figure intervention led to the peaceful resolution of all the contentious issues and successful conduct of the election, after several postponements.
“Our dear commissioner, you have proved to us that you are a rare breed and worthy example in leadership. The NUJ in Rivers State will never forget your contributions to the Union, just as your outstanding stewardship as a former permanent secretary and now commissioner will forever remain enduring in our minds.
“As you celebrate your birthday today, we pray to God to grant you good health, more wisdom and long life to serve our state and humanity in greater capacity.
“Do accept our warmest felicitation as you add another year to your age”, the statement read.
