Some church services in the city of Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital were disrupted by flooding which occurred as a result of the heavy rains on Saturday, September 26, 2026.
Our correspondent who visited Eliowhani and Rumuodara towns reported that congregants assembled in open area for worship because they could not access their flooded church auditoriums.
According to the report, the members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Spring of Life Area, Eliowhani, were forced to hold their worship service on the street as flood waters covered the road leading to their church building.
It added that members of Baptist Church in the same area, climbed over the fence into their premises inorder not to wade through the ankle-deep waters on the road, for worship.
