The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Spring of Life Parish has visited the Port Harcourt Custodial Centre in Rivers state, where it shared the word of God and presented food items, bread, and fairly used clothes.
Other Items donated include stationeries, toiletries, detergent, tooth paste and brush and female toiletries.
Speaking during the presentation, the parish pastor, Barr. Clarence Akpan said that the vision for the prison outreach was derived from the Bible in Matthew 25: 34- 40.
According to him, ”The RCCG Spring of Life Parish, in obedience to the commandment of God, came to the Port Harcourt Custodial centre to show love and make the name of Jesus famous through preaching the gospel.
“We are grateful to God almighty for the souls that were won (about 40 souls in total) and we pray that these souls will be firmly rooted in Christ in Jesus name”.
The parish pastor expressed appreciation to every member of the parish who graciously contributed towards the success of the outreach through their finances, prayers, time, effort and presence and prayed the Almighty God to reward them.
He thanked the prison officials for availing them the opportunity to bring the Goodnews of the gospel to the prison and prayed for more grace to not relent in making sure that more souls are won into the kingdom of God.
