Sanitation crisis is looming at Eliowhani town in Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital, where some households discharge human faeces into gutters.
Metronetworknews investigation revealed that some houses in the area are connected with underground pipes to dislodge liquid waste, full of maggots into drains, which generated offensive odour.
In an interview with our reporter, a resident who pleaded to remain anonymous, called on the Rivers state sanitation authority to come to their rescue, stressing that the situation could cause outbreak of cholera, diarrhoea and other related diseases.
