The police in Rivers state have arrested two suspected car snatchers at Igwuruta town in Rivers state.
DSP Grace Iringe-Koko, the Rivers police command spokesperson, said the suspects were apprehended after snatching a Black Toyota Corolla Saloon Car, with Registration Number KSF 629 FR that was reported stolen in the early hours of Wednesday at Diobu, Mile One, Port Harcourt.
The suspects were identified as Garzali Abubakar, 25, and Lukman Magaji, 20, both from Adamawa State.
They were arrested by Operatives of the Rivers State Police Command on 20th April, 2022, while on stop and search duties at Igwuruta Check Point, the police spokesperson said.
She further stated that the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigations Department (SCID), and the suspects will be arraign in court upon conclusion of investigation.
According to her, the Commissioner of Police, CP Eboka Friday, while emphasizing the commitment of the Command to ensuring sustainable security in the state, urged the owner of the vehicle to come forward with proper identification and a valid proof of ownership to claim the vehicle.
