The Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People (MOSOP) has threatened showndown with the contractors handling Bori internal roads for abadoning them.
In a statement signed by the MOSOP Publicity Secretary, comr. Saviour Oscar Imeaba, the group urged the contractors to complete their work, stating that “Bori is the traditional headquarters of Ogoniland, and Ogoni people have contributed significantly to the development of Rivers State and Nigeria, deserving government presence.”
Similarly, MOSOP in the statement congratulated Dr. Peter Medee from Tai LGA and Tambari Sydney Gbara from Khana LGA on their recent appointment as commissioners by Governor Siminalaya Fubara.
While appreciating the gesture, it urged the Governor to involve more Ogoni sons and daughters in his administration.
The group also congratulated Governor Fubara on his one-year anniversary in office and prayed for a successful tenure.
It expressed its readiness to work with the Governor to achieve his goals for the state and ensure peace in Ogoniland, while urging the Governor to partner MOSOP leadership.
The organization reaffirmed its commitment to peaceful agitation until its expectations are met.
They called for reconciliation between Governor Fubara and former Governor Nyesom Wike for peace to reign in the state.
