Prelate of the Methodist Church, His Eminence Samuel Kanu Uche, has revealed that the Methodist Church in Nigeria paid a whooping sum of N100 million to his abductors before he was released.
The Prelate who disclosed this on Tuesday at a press conference in Lagos, said the monies were arranged in five sacks of N20 million.
He regretted that neither the Federal or State Government, nor the military or police intervened.
It would be recalled that the cleric alongside two others, the Bishop of Methodist Church, Owerri Diocese and the Prelate’s chaplain were kidnapped on Sunday in Abia State and regained their freedom on Monday.
They were reportedly whisked away at about 2pm on their way from a church programme in Okigwe Imo State to Isuochi in Umu Nneochi Local Government Area of Abia State.
