A group under the aegis of Kano for Gaza says it will hold a rally in solidarity with Palestine today at 3pm in the state capital.
This was contained in a notification letter addressed to the commissioner of police, Kano state cammand, which was sighted by Metronetworknews.
The letter signed by the chairperson, Aisha Datti Abubakar and the secretary, Haruna Magashi Esq, respectively, read; ”We are a forum of friends and colleagues with common interest. All our members are indigenes and residents of Kano.
” We have gathered and shared ideas on showing our support to the weak people of Palestinian, especially their women and children that face daily bombardments in the strip of Gaza by powerful army of Israel.
”Our plan is to hold a ‘stationary’ rally or stand out by the road side and display the flags, banners and placards that show support to the people of Palestine.
” We will abide by all relevant provisions of the law. We donot intend to hold a march or demonstration.
” Our forum is solely responsible for this rally, as we do not affilate or even invite other organisations to join us, unless of course the media oulets and some international organisations to witness and air the event.

Some 1,000 Muslims rallied in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, after Friday prayers to show solidarity with the Palestinians. Chanting “Free Palestine” and “Crush the Zionists”, they burned two effigies draped with Israeli flags.
