A group under the aegis of Grassroots Mobilizers for Sim (GMS) has alleged that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, engineered the threat of war against Gov. Siminialaye Fubara by the Grassroot Development Initiative(GDI).
The group’s president, Kinikanwo Amadi, said in a statement on Monday that recent utterances by the minister’s supporters have shown that they were sent by him.
”Recently, the chief of staff to the chairman of Etche Local Government Area, another local thug was seen in a video, leading other thugs to destroy canopies, chairs and musical equipments meant for the Thanksgiving Service in honour of Gov. Sim’s Supreme Court Victory, in the LGA., and after that was done, the hoodlums converged somewhere to sing, “on Wike’s mandate we stand.”
” All these were done on camera, with the consent of the hoodlums, clearly telling the world that they were sent by Wike, and so are above the law.
”These are apart from Wike’s alleged attempts to lure LGA. coordinators of the defunct GDI and other youths from Ikwerre ethnic nationality with hundreds of millions of naira and NDDC contracts to cause tribal crises and attacks in the state. But was vehemently rejected, leading to the disintegration of the GDI.
”The Grassroots Mobilizers for Sim (GMS) characterises the threat to the Executive Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminialayi Fubara, by one Bright Amaewhule, a local hoodlum who was recently ostracised by his community from an illegally installed chieftaincy title, as a representation of the desires of the FCT. Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike to instigate violent crises to achieve his selfish interest of denationalisation of our dear state”.
He called on President Bola Tinubu to call to order the FCT minister.
”Our dear former governor and revered senior citizen, Sir Dr. Peter Odili described Rivers State as “the state that is carrying the entire country on the map of Nigeria, and so whatever happens to the state (whether good or bad) has the tendency to affect the entire nation.”
”We align ourselves with Odili’s position, hence, we call on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on whose backing Wike and his cohorts claim to be operating above the law, to call Wike to order.
”According to Wiston Churchill, “You will never reach your destination if you stop and throw stones at every dog that barks.”
”The fact that the Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminialayi Fubara has remained mature and focused on his goal of the socio-economic transformation of our state, without operating like a motor park governor shouldn’t be further taken for weakness. WE WARN.
”Wike should be told that Rivers people are aware of his frustration, prepared for his antics, and ready to neutralise his violent style of politics.
”The end of his political manipulations is here”.
All attempts to get the minister’s reaction proved abortive.
