A socio-cultural, political and advocacy group under the aegis of Ekpeleni Ekpeye in Rivers state, says the appointment of Rt. Hon. Edison Ehie as Chief of State to Rivers state Governor Siminailayi Fubara is in order.
In a statement jointly signed by the President, Jonathan Ewoh and the Secretary Ogboka Umeda, the group described Ehie as as a man of many letters who is well loved by Rivers people and expressed optimism that his appointment will engineer development process and translate government policies and programmes for the benefit of Rivers people.
Ekpeleni Ekpeye which is the watch dog of Ekpeye Ethnic Nationality, called on Rivers people to support the governor.
It stated that the promotion of civil servants, ongoing construction of twenty thousand housing units and recent payment of Hundred Thousand Naira Christmas bonus to civil servants across board are deliberate efforts of Gov. Fubara (Mr Ring Road) to put smiles on the faces of Rivers people.
“Governor Siminalayi Fubara means business and should not be distracted so that the business of governance can be smooth in the four years social contract he has with Rivers people”, it added.
The body prayed God to grant Ehie the wisdom, strength and protection to function optimally in his new office.
