A young man( names withheld) who specialises in defrauding unsuspecting members of the public was today nabbed at Eliowhani town in Port Harcourt.
He was said to be about obtaining N80,000 from a young lady’s account under the pretence of helping her to secure federal government youth empowerment programme from a mobile banking centre in the area, when he was apprehended.
Metronetworknews learnt that the young man had defrauded another person to the tune of N600,000 from the same POS centre, which led to the arrest of the agent by the police, last month.
It gathered that the man’s previous transaction was captured by a closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera planted in the shop, which helped the agent to identify him and quickly mobilised some youths in the vicinity who caught him.
It also gathered that more than seven ATM cards were found in his pocket when the youths carried out a search on him.
