A 24-hour curfew has been imposed on the Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau state by Governor, Caleb Mutfwang.
This was contained in statement signed by Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Governor, Gyang Bere.
It assured the people that the government is working round-the-clock to restore peace and security in the state.
The statement read, “The Governor, in consultation with the State Security Council, imposed the curfew on the entire Local Government Area to restore law and order.
“Consequently, movements within the Local Government have been banned until further notice except for security personnel and persons on essential duties.
“Security agencies have therefore been directed to ensure total enforcement of the curfew”.
It was learnt that the curfew followed recent attacks by gunmen in the council area which led to the loss of lives and properties.
It would be noted that the latest curfew imposed in Mangu LGA on Sunday was the second in less than one month.
