The activities of commercial sex workers are said to have been redoubled during the week as tourists and players converge in Port Harcourt for the 2022 Polo tournament which will start on Sunday.
As players started arriving in their droves and most hotels were busy checking in their august visitors in to their reserved accomodation, easy virtue girls seized the opportunity to make brisk business as they were spotted to have increased their activities around these hotels by a 100 percent.
The hotels which are located at the GRA, stadium road and other choice areas in the Rivers state capital attracted an unprecedented seige of these prostitutes usually called ‘ashawo’.
The charges per night for each prostitute is also said to have skydive astronomically.
Most of these prostitutes in their adolescence period between the ages of 18 years and 25 years are mostly students, who flooded the scene to catch in on the largesse accruing from the presence of the ‘big catches’, who are in the garden city to play polo also known as ‘the game of kings’.
