Senator Kashim Shettima has been picked by the Presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as his running mate.
Tinubu’s action followed the withdrawal of Alhaji Ibrahim Masari as Vice Presidential nominee to him.
“Senator Shettima is former Governor of Borno State and a close associate of Tinubu who has been a staunch supporter and campaigner for the choice of Tinubu as the next President of Nigeria.
“He toured many states with Tinubu since December 2021 where he addressed party delegates and mobilized support for the former Governor of Lagos State”, Bayo Onanuga, Director, Media and Communication Tinubu Campaign Organization said.
Earlier in a statement signed by Honorable James Faleke, Interim National Coordinator of Bola Tinubu Campaign Organization, noted that the organization has been briefed of Masari’s withdrawal, noting that the decision is an opportunity for Tinubu to take decision that will further enhance the chances of their great party in the 2023 elections.
