The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Rivers State Command, has advised Parents and guardians to caution their wards against night movements and indiscriminate use of firecrackers in residential areas, as the command will not hesitate to arrest defaulters in the state.
The Command gave the advice in a Statement issued and signed by the Public Relations Officer, ACC Oguntase Michael, on behalf of the State Commandant.
The Statement noted that the Counter Terrorism and Disaster Management Team of the Command has since commenced surveillance patrol round the state to ensure no security breach of any kind occurs during the celebration.
“The State Commandant wish the good people of the state a Happy Christmas and New Year celebration in advance. He also pray that the perpetrators of the nefarious act of illegal bunkering and vandalism in the state will have a rethink and find something more noble to engage in rather than illegal bunkering”., it added.
