A group of youths have called on former president Goodluck Jonathan to run for president in 2027.
The youths who stormed the former president’s Abuja residence, on Thursday, pledged to support his campaign.
Responding to the calls, Jonathan described the presidential race as a serious undertaking and not something to be approached lightly.
He disclosed that he will consult widely over his possible participation in the 2027 presidential election.
“Presidential race is not a computer game. But I’ve heard you, and I’ll consult widely. But the most important thing is in Nigeria, that the young people will have hope,” he said.
Sources say the former President may join the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
It would be recalled that former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi and former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, recently joined the NDC after defecting from the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
