Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, says writing unpleasant things about the former Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, in the press for his comment that Nigerians are hungry is evil, wicked, and anti democratic.

In a statement made available to the media, Eze noted that the former Minister’s comment which was borne out of patriotism and empathy for the helpless masses was targeted at drawing the attention of the President and his allies to the bizarre suffering, hunger and starvation that is fast becoming an enduring legacy of the current regime that gag critiques and forcefully stifle dissenting voices including the media and media practitioners who attempt to bring to fore instances of the monumental failures of the government.

“The comment credited to the former Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, in a public symposium to mark his 60th Birthday Anniversary, is a reflection of the stack reality about the hunger ravaging Nigerians under the clueless administration of President Tinubu and his gang of treasury looters who have ruthlessly indulged in fanfare of squander-mania and left the people they they claim to lead in squalor without a hint of remorse.

“As it is in Nigeria today, under the insensitive and clueless government of President Tinubu, it is an act most abominable for any Nigerian to say he is hungry. In fact, it is now a national taboo and sanctionable crime for Tinubu’s men to hear that Nigerians are hungry.”

“Imagine, Tinubu, beating Nigerians, impoverished by his obnoxious, anti people and self serving economic policies, and yet, doesn’t want them to cry out over hunger. Eze stated”.

According to Eze, an ally of Rt. Hon. Amaechi, rather than vilify and call for Amaechi’s head, Tinubu and his errand boys should have embraced the noble and sincere advice of the 2-time Director General of the Buhari Campaign Organization, and go back to their none existing economic blueprint to see what they can do to save Nigerians from devastating hunger ravaging the country.

“Amaechi, saying he is hungry is a subtle way of advising Tinubu to have a rethink and save Nigerians from dying. It’s a hard truth, that must be said without minding whose ox is gourd. It is speaking truth to power. It’s nothing but the truth.

“Without mincing words, Amaechi made the statement to draw the attention of the insensitive Tinubu’s Government and the entire world to the unending hunger and abject poverty situation causing most Nigerians to commit suicide, and not sure of their next meal.

“It is important that the world be put on notice about the seriousness of the poverty situation in the country where Nigerians who can no longer fend for their families are resorting to suicide, to end the agony, trauma and embarrassment that beseech their inability to provide for their household. More Nigerians have committed suicide for this reason under the current regime than any other administration in the annals of the country’s history, whereas the President and his cabinet members and those close to them live extravagantly at the expense of the common patrimony.

” It is saddening to learn that many sycophants like the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike and his band of bootlickers, including his Media Aide who claim to be a Journalist with absolutely nothing to show for it, will make jest of the honest and sincere expression of the former Transportation Minister which reflects the suffering of Nigerians.

:The situation under Tinubu’s watch is bad to the extent that apart from those that are either in Government or engaged in looting or in the NNPC or any Government Agency where public funds are not accounted for, everyone else is hungry and at the same time angry at the President and his regime of Incompetence.

“Contrary to the reasoning of Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Barr. Nyesom Wike, a man that was moulded, tutored and brought to political limelight by Amaechi, the statement of the former Transportation Minister, literally did not mean he can’t feed himself or his family.

“It is sad that many including Wike and his bootlickers deliberately misunderstood what Amaechi was trying to highlight that the present Federal Government under Tinubu’s watch, has brought so much untold hardship and pitiable hunger to Nigerians.

“Amaechi’s statement was a pointer to the fact that it is either you are in government or you are one of those engaged in looting of the country’s treasury, or in NNPC or government agencies where public funds are not accounted for, that you will not feel the pang of hunger.

“But I strongly know and Nigerians also know that Wike and Tinubu’s aides know that Nigerians are truly hungry and desirous of food on their tables. They should stop their eye-service and refrain from pretence.

“Building flyovers in Abuja and making noise, can never quench the thirst and hunger in Nigerians. If you are hungry, can you ascend and descend from a flyover?

“So, for Wike, and Tinubu’s aides to feign ignorance and trivialize Amaechi’s statement, means, they are enemies of Nigeria and Nigerians.

“Even during the Nigeria/Biafra War, Nigerians have never been subjected to the level of wickedness and poverty currently pervading the nation under Tinubu due to Mr. T’ Pain’s misguided policies. Today, Nigerians are being slaughtered like goats by criminal elements, gangs of bandits, terrorist organizations, religious extremists and other terror groups while the President sits idly by and watches unperturbed.

“The fact remains that only people like Wike and his irks who loot the common patrimony on a daily basis can boast of their next meal and not the over 300 million ordinary Nigerians whose pains Amaechi’s statement represents. Amaechi spent 23 years in power without looting and therefore it is in order if he complains of hunger like the ordinary Nigerians who cannot afford daily bread. Amaechi is Nigerians and Nigerians are Amaechi”, Eze posited.

While cautioning Tinubu to desist from the strategy of weaponizing hunger which His administration is using to suffocate Nigerians the APC Chief noted that crucifying Amaechi, a man that laboured assiduously alongside some progressive democrats to midwife the APC, and calling him unprintable names for harmlessly stating the obvious is evil, wicked, and anti democratic.

Eze appealed to Nigerians not to lose faith in the Nigerian project, stressing that there is light at the end of the tunnel, come 2027.

He called for prayers for the likes of Amaechi who is working tirelessly to emancipate Nigeria from the grip of despots, who rob themselves with democratic garments.

Eze appealed to Tinubu’s government to have sympathy for Nigerians and engage in policies that will give the people a breathing space.

He equally urged ‘bootlickers’ like Wike to stop castigating innocent people doing their best to draw the attention of the government to the sad state of the nation, stressing that sycophancy is another major problem in the country that must be tackled.
