Things are falling apart between ex- Governor of Rivers state and current Minister of Federal Capital Territory(FCT), Chief Nyesom Wike and Governor Siminialaya Fubara and the State House of Assembly has erupted into fire of disaggreement as moves have been taken to remove legislators sympathetic to Fubara, thereby impeaching the governor.
The seeming disagreement between the governor and minister widened when Fubara refused to comply to all the directives from the minister to make him(Fubara) a complete puppet.
The governor’s disagreement with the minister led to Wike being furious and instructed the Assembly to impeach Fubara with immediate effect.
This did not go well with Fubara’s supporters in the House of Assembly who put up resistance which culminated with the impeachment of the majority leader, Edison Ehie.
The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) who felt insulted by the move of the minister decided to stage a protest at the Assembly complex, chanting war songs outside and threatening hail and brimstone.
In this scenario, the Commissioner of Police had to move in to avoid the inferno that would erupt from it.
Our correspondent reports that there is high presence of armed policemen with 17 security trucks, one armoured personnel carrier(APC) stationed at the gate of the Assembly complex to secure the place.

”Rivers State has made significant strides in the pursuit of development and stability under the leadership of Governor Fubara.
