The University of Port Harcourt has announced that it will commence the demolition of all illegal structures on University premises on Monday, 5 October 2026.
A statement by the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Dr Sam Kpenu stated that the demolition exercise followed the decision of the Finance and General Purpose Committee (F&GPC) of the Governing Council.
It advised all persons occupying or owning such structures to remove their belongings and vacate the premises before the commencement of the exercise.
The statement noted that the exercise is intended to restore order, ensure compliance with the University’s regulations on the use of its premises, and maintain a safe and conducive environment.
It urged all concerned to comply with the directive and cooperate with the relevant University authorities to ensure the smooth execution of the exercise.
