Troops in the North-East zone have set ablaze a terrorists base with bunkers and over 100 mattresses at Mallam Fatori town in Abadam Local Government area of Borno state.
Disclosing this to newsmen during the biweekly briefing by the Directorate of Defence Media Operations on troops activities and operational successes being recorded in the various operation theatres within the 6 geo political zones of the country, the Director, Defence Media Operations, Major-General Musa Danmadami, said the troops discovered the base on 2 December, 2022, while exploiting deep into the forest in the area.
He said during the fire fight, the troops neutralised several terrorists trying to escape from the place.
He added that 1 motar tube, 2 mortar tripod stand and 1 x 60mm mortar bomb were recovered.
Speaking further, the director noted that the kinetic and non kinectic operations conducted by the military in the past 3 weeks recorded significant results across the country.
He coveyed the military high command commendations on troops effort in the various theatres of operation across the nation
He equally acknowledged the media community for their partnership and continued cooperation with the military and other security agencies in their quest to restore peace and security in the country.
Furthermore, he thanked the public for supporting the military in the conduct of their operations across the country, while also urging them to continue to provide prompt and credible information on the activities of terrorists and other criminal elements, in their respective areas.
