Some Governors of the South-South region today shunned the Niger Delta summit with the theme; “Renewed Hope for Sustainable Development in the Niger Delta Region”.
Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State was the only South-South governor physically present as at the time of filing in this report.
The Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, who is the host was represented by the Head of Service of the State, George Nwaeke.
However, key stakeholders such as ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, and some former governors were present at summit which was held in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State Capital.
