Chris Finebone, the former publicity secretary of APC now in PDP has been tackled by the sister for joining hands with Rivers state Governor, Barr. Nyesom Wike in supporting Siminialaye Fubara.
Speaking when she alongside other women paid a courtesy visit to Prince Ugo Beke, the gubernatorial candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Port Harcourt, the sister, Victoria Finebone said her distrust for the leadership of Wike is based on his comedian approach to leadership, which has become an embarassment to Rivers people, pointing out that there is a need for the people to form a synergy as ruling Rivers state demands all seriousness to move the state forward.
She expressed her confidence in Prince Beke, noting that his vision of economic prosperity for Rivers state is ideal.
She called all Rivers people to rally round him to salvage the state from political predators who feed fat from the common patrimony of Rivers people without caring for the down trodden.
Her words; “We need a Moses to drive away all these Pharaohs in Rivers state. These people do not care. How can somebody I voted into office will be dancing and singing “As e dey pain dem, e dey sweet us.
“My family now call me a prodigal daughter for standing on the truth. My brother Chris Finebone don’t pick my calls anymore.
” I want to be behind the ambition of a humble and caring man.
“I am fed up with what is happening in the state. Personally, I don’t like politicians because they say one thing and do another thing. They make promises but the moment they get into office, they don’t care about the people. Sir, you appear to be humble. Can you be trusted?”, she stated.
In his response, Prince Beke sympathised with her and other Rivers people for what they are going through, stating that he felt their pains and promised that Rivers state under his watch will be fair and equitable to Rivers people.
“I share your pains with you. I can be trusted. I think the last time I went to Government House, Port Harcourt was during late Chief Melford Okilo’s administration in 1979. During the visit, I was the only one that the former Governor gave special award. He just identified me as a young intelligent boy.
” I have no godfather . I am running this race based on who I am. I am not excited to steal Rivers money for anything. The only thing I want to do is to care and protect our children, women and people. I am not interested in primitive accumulation of wealth while my brothers and sisters are hungry. Anybody who knows me knows that I am not that kind of person”, he said.
