The Managing Director, Masta Energy Services Company Limited, Ugochukwu Ohuabunwa, has called on Governor Siminalayi Fubara to ensure wholistic implementation of the objectives of the Rivers State Economic and Investment summit held in Port Harcourt, the state capital, recently.
Ohuabunwa who made the call while speaking to newsmen in an interview, advocated for the establishment of a State implementation Commission to drive the process.
He applauded the Fubara-led administration for organising the summit which he described as a landmark event aimed at rediscovering the abandoned potentials of the State.
The Managing Director, expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the summit, adding that it was one of the best things to happen under the present administration in the state.
He hailed the policy thrusts contained in the keynote address presented by Gov. Fubara at the summit, describing it as thought-provoking coming from a man of vision and statesman rather than a politician, stating that such visionary statements has never been made by any past political leaders of the state.
He charged the state government to ensure deliberate implementations of various proposals arising from the summit, emphasising that the outcome of the summit must not be allowed to go under the archives like the one held under former Governor Chibuike Amaechi’s administration in 2012.
Speaking further, the project consultant who acknowledged that implementing the outcomes of the economic and investment summit may take years to achieve, called on successive administrations to continue with its implementation.
He said Gov. Fubara’s performance in the first 100 days in office has been superlative.
“It’s a four year tenure. We cannot properly access a leader within one year because the first year which is just 25% of an administration is used for planning but with what we have seen today in his first one year, I will give him 90%.
” It is obvious he is setting his agenda correctly to Rivers people for his 2nd term in office”, the project consultant stated.
While calling for the continued support of Rivers people to the administration, Ohuabunwa who is also the MD. Masta-Rivers Development Limited, equally charged Governor Fubara to ignore the obvious political distractions against his administration but should remain focused and not loose purpose in working for the people of the state.
“When the two parts- the people and Government work together, then Rivers State will be on part of progress and prosperity,” he declared.
The two-day Summit which held between May 22-23 featured paper presentations and panel discussions was attended by Gov. Siminalayi Fubara, key Government officials, captains of industries including foriegn and local investors.
