The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Spring of Life Parish in Rivers State has been dedicated to God.
The dedication service which took place on Sunday April 2, was attended by the top leadership of the church in the state and dignitaries from all walks of life, including Pastor David Adewuyi, the Pastor in charge of Region 33, Pastor Chukwugoziam Onianwah, the Pastor in-charge of Rivers Province 3 in addition to other pastors of the RCCG amidst songs and celebration.
In his exhortation shortly after dedicating the building, Adewuyi, reminded the congregation that God is always there to do a new thing in the lives of the people as well as bring down his glory on them when any place is dedicated.
” Our God is a king of glory. He is also the father of glory. The thing He does at dedication is to bring down His glory. So, there is always a new glory when any place is being dedicated. One thing that can happen to you today is give you dedication gift. One of the greatest gifts is the gift of His Son”, he said.
Earlier on, the Pastor in-charge of the Parish, A/P (Barr.) Clarence Akpan, said when the building project was to commence, its completion looked like something that would be impossible to achieve.
‘Talking about building a place of our own and moving from an apartment where we paid a lot of money as rent, to where we are today as landlord was like thinking of a camel passing through the eyes of a needle, taking into consideration the fact that, the land, the place we are to dedicate today was a complete swamp with few members and weak financial muscles”, he stated.
He added that the parish with the help of God, was able to resolve all impediments to ensure the speedy completion of the new building, which has a 250 seater capacity auditorium, pastor’s office, children session, technical room, three(3)conveniences and store.
He pointed out that over 90 percent of the funds used in the construction of the new auditorium was raised by the worshippers.
”Irrespective of the aforementioned obastacles, we kept trusting the Lord and holding Him by His words in Luke 1: 37 and Jeremaiah 32: 27 that with Him nothing shall be impossible, our faith was strengthened, and with unity, love, fasting, prayer, sacrificial contributions couple with continous support/encouragement of our indefatigable former zonal pastor, Caleb Onofeghara, the impossible became possible, the swamp and water that was getting up to the chest level was overpowered and to the glory of God, this beautiful and eye catching edifice was built”.
Speaking further, the pastor said that the parish was planted in April, 2017 during the April Let’s- Go-A-Fishing programme in a nearby secondary school premises.
He praised the members for their selfless service, including the Chairman of the building committee, Mr. Philip Inyang and some brothers outside the parish who contributed significantly to the growth of the parish.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the building and dedication committee, Bro. Philip Emil-Inyang, thanked God for the strength, wisdom and grace to successfully see the project to a completion.
The event featured songs, drama presentations by children and youths, High praise, dancing and thanksgiving.
