In a statement made available to media houses on the heels of the comment credited to Wike where he stated- “We’ll know who is in charge of Rivers State when the time comes”, Eze said, ”it is appropriate to intimate the FCT Minister the reality on ground he has continued to feign ignorance – that God is in-charge of the battle and Gov. Fubara is steering the affairs of the state”.
Recall that Wike made the outlandish statement when he visited the National Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Victor Giadom, raising speculation of another round of political re-alignment and establishing uncertainty in minds of people about the end of the crisis which saw Mr. President’s intervention.
Addressing the gathering earlier, Giadom had described Wike’s visit as the homecoming of a brother, a friend and a leader and threw up an assurance that they would support a team he would lead in Rivers.
Chief Eze hinted that Wike has already lost relevance in the politics of Rivers State and his latest hustle is in attempt to recruit people to help revive his drowned political relevance in further pursuit of his selfish private vendetta.
He said the former Governor needs be reminded that Rivers State people have come to terms with what he represents and are no longer ready to succumb to his uncouth, crude, uncivilized and unproductive political-machinations.
On threatening the erstwhile Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly for a Battle, Eze pointed that the battle Wike is talking about has been fought and won and urged him to forget and rescind the idea of igniting further crisis in Rivers State, ‘as such scheming may consume him’.
”Rivers State provided for Wike a platform to make himself relevant but he lost it through greed, selfishness and waste of the common patrimony of Rivers people.
“With the destruction of the key policies and projects set up by the administration of Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi in Education, Agriculture, Security, Greater Port Harcourt and other Sectors that would have placed Rivers State amongst one of the best developed States in Africa, Wike lost the battle to sustain his hold on the politics of Rivers State”.
Eze corrected Wike’s recent utterance that he regrets imposing Gov. Fubara on Rivers State and informed him that the people are cool with their Governor and no evil machination will thwart the will of majority backed by God.
He restated that by deceiving some moronic Rivers Lawmakers to decamp from PDP, Wike succeeded to shoot himself on his feet by indirectly destroying whatever is left of his political structure in Rivers State.
On those he lured away from Amaechi with hope of using them for his new political structure, Eze said, ”it is unfortunate for Wike to think that such characters who have no integrity like himself will not abandon him very soon when they notice that he can no longer feed and pay their house rents”.
He added: ”With what happened during the luncheon where no sound political leader was in attendance including the State Governor and his State Executive except people who are looking for appointments to survive, one would have expected Wike to come to terms that the game is up and there is no longer battle to fight.
“The earlier he formally retires the better for him”, Eze counseled Wike.
