The Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, Hon. Charles Wobodo, has warned against ” land grabbers in the area, reaffirming his commitment to good governance.

Hon. Wobodo stated this in his office at Isiokpo, the council headquarters, while addressing members of Okwu’s family who averted land grabbing activities in Aluu Community in Ikwerre LGA .
The chairman restated that he would not allow anything “not obtainable” or unlawful to take place in the local government area, stressing that his priority remains providing effective and people-oriented governance.
The council chairman issued a strong warning to individuals involved in land grabbing, particularly within Ikwerre Local Government Area, urging them to desist immediately or face the wrath of the council.
He emphasized that the local government would deploy all available resources to combat land grabbing and protect the rights of the indigenous people.
Hon. Wobodo further exonerated himself from any involvement in land grabbing, stating that he neither supports nor participates in land buying or grabbing in any form
He also cautioned persons coming into Ikwerre LGA with the intention of forcefully acquiring land, declaring that such actions would no longer be tolerated under his administration.
He maintained any person caught in land
grabbing activities in Ikwerre LGA would face the full wrath of the council.
