The national body of Action Democratic Party(ADP) has given its gubernatorial candidate, Kehinde Atanda a pat on the back for comig out third position in the governorship election held on Saturday in Osun state.
This was contained in a statement entitled;”Osun 2022 Governorship Election: ADP Came 3rd”, issued by the National Chairman of the party, Yabagi Yusuf Sani, on Sunday.
Furthermore, the statement said the leadership of the ADP will respond to the events of Saturday’s governorship poll after studying it.
It called on the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC),Security agencies and Nigerians to reject the result of the election as according to it, it was characterized by rampant vote buying and selling.
The statement partly reads;”We congratulate HE Kehinde Atanda. The Osun State gubernatorial candidate of our great party, the Action Democratic Party (ADP) and members of the Osun State chapter of our great ADP for a historic galant performance.
“Meanwhile ADP is studying the events such as rampant vote buying and other illegal activities perpetuated by both the APC and the PDP before, during and after the just concluded election leading to the daylight robbery of our expected victory at the polls.
“We call on INEC, Security agencies and all lovers of democracy and compatriots to reject the result of this election as it was characterized by rampant vote buying/selling.
“This will guarantee 2023 does not become another robbery against the people of this country”.
Atanda had come third behind the incumbent governor and APC candidate Adegboyega Oyetola in the election.
