Following the arrest of Uche Nwosu who went on church outing that had the presence of the wife and daughter of former Imo state Governor, Rochas Okorocha, Nigerians have decried the invasion of the church.

A Port Harcourt based businessman, Ugochukwu Arinze, condemned the government of Hope Uzodima and the Imo state Police Command for lacking courtesy and fear of God to effect the arrest of Nwosu while the church service was in session.

He said not only did they effect arrest, they also shot sporadically scaring church members away.

The businessman wondered why the Police should involve in such an act and said that if they had done it in a mosque that it would have resulted to revolt.

Mr. Arinze said Nwosu from his perception is a man of prominence, having risen as chief of staff and gubernatorial candidate of AAC that took second in the last elections.

He pointed out that if the police had invited him that the man would had honoured the invitation.

He noted that there had been too much human rights violations in this administration.

He,therefore, urged the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), as a matter of urgency to address Nigerians on it.

He also had a word or two against the Christian Association of Nigeria(CAN) and Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria( PFN) for their passive attitude towards anything pertaining to Christianity, pointing out that they are the cause why Christianity is being looked down upon by the government.

On his part, Mr. Kie Obomanu, questioned why CAN and PFN have not condemned the action by the security agencies.

“Have the Christian Association Of Nigeria (CAN) and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) condemned this action of the security agencies and demanded an apology from the authorities concerned on the open and violent desecration of the church under the orders of arresting Uche Nwosu inside ST. Peter’s Anglican Church, Eziama Obieri in Nkwerre LGA on Sunday ?

” The leadership of CAN and PFN are now docile. Docility means complicity. It’s so sad that the leadership of these organisations are now toothless Bulldogs. Not only toothless but also voiceless”.

” No security officer can dare do this in a mosque. No matter who gives the command, none will obey”.

“Ordinarily, they should have waited until the end of service but no, it must be right inside the Church. No condemnation from any quarters. We all have just lost it”, he stated.
