NLC president arrested

The President of the Nigeria Labour Congress(NLC), Joe Ajaero, has been reportedly arrested by operatives of the Department of the State Services(DSS).

The President of the Nigeria Labour Congress(NLC), Joe Ajaero, has been reportedly arrested by operatives of the Department of the State Services(DSS). Ajaero was said to have been arrested on Monday morning at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on his way to the United Kingdom for an official assignment.

Though reasons for the arrest are still sketchy as of the time of filing this report, it was learnt the NLC president was billed to attend the Trade Union Congress conference in London, which begins today.
