The President of Niger Delta Students Union Government(NIDSUG), Comrade Chika Uchechukwu has promised to run an all inclusive and participatory government where all students, leaders, and stakeholders at all levels will be carried along in decision making process.
Comrade Uchechukwu stated this during the inauguration of the new executive of the union in Port Harcourt on Thursday .
He assured the students that he will not take the mandate given to him to serve for granted but would use it to address challenges of the Niger Delta students.
” To the entire students body, l say, l don’t take your mandate for granted. I understand that this trust is not a blank cheque for personal glory, but a charge to service to advocate, amplify the unique aspirations and address the specific challenges of the Niger Delta students” , he said.
He noted that Niger Delta students union have intellectuals who carry dreams of their communities that bear the weight of environmental strain, underdevepment and the constant quest for equitable resources control.
The NIDSUG president equally said for his administration to have effective leadership and good representation he will give the students effective representation and provide quality leadership that will equip the students with requisite skills.
According to him, we will engage political and institutional leaders, organization and Federal Government agencies and NGOs operating in the Niger Delta region to invest in the union initiative and programme that will empower the students.
