The face off between Gov. Nyesom Wike of Rivers state and Sen. Dino Melaye has triggered reactions from netizens who advised that Wike should respect himself and avoid embarassing revelations from Melaye.
Netizens also said that Wike should be mindful of the fact that he is a governor and be careful what he says for the interest of his supporters.
They said the way the thing is going, they fear that Melaye could be privy to sensitive information against Wike.
They cautioned that the governor should avoid engaging in many fronts of conflicts, adding that Rivers people and his supporters are getting embarrassed.
They advised Wike to choose his words, comments and actions if he wants people to respect and revere him as a great leader.
In some comment threads to post on the matter on facebook, Saviour Aekue wrote, ‘Dino just finished Wike’.
Chiemele Abubor wrote, ‘Dino is known for his lies and unneccesary dramatic display. The truth be told he can’t make it as Kogi state governor because his people are tired of his antics’
Also, Akina George wrote, ‘I think the governor has emptied his arsenal. Dino still has alot to fire”.

Furthermore, Boma Anthony wrote, ‘ Dino is super ready and I am sure Wike will not respond again’.
Barry Ledum Michael, wrote, ‘The beans Dino is spilling is too hot. Wike should avoid him’.
Recall Gov. Wike had during an interview with selected madia Houses, in Port Harcourt, on Monday, taken a swipe at Sen. Dino Melaye and marked him down as unqualified to govern Kogi state.
Reacting, Dino vowed to open more cans of worms on Gov. Wike if he grants another interview on him
Dino Melaye’s words, ”I want Nigerians to know that Wike was my biggest supporter when I ran for Governorship in 2019. Wike was my biggest supporter financially and even otherwise. Apart from funding me to the tune of hundred of dollars in the last govenorship election in 2019, he provided his private jet to drop me at Obajanaya airstrip from Port Harcourt. That is to show the level , magnitude and intensity of his support and believe in me in 2019. So, the man who saw competence, capacity and even invested his money in that project, today, in 2023 is saying that I am not qualified.
”The only explanation to that is psychotic disorderliness and mental fatique because you cannot fund a project few years ago and now say otherwise. He was calling me on the day of the primary, what is happening ? Have you made it? So, the same champion you saw some few years ago, today, because I am not a bootlicker and refused to work in alliance with your myopic agenda, coroborrate with your intellectual stagnacy, you now say that the same person you sponsored some years ago, today, is no longer qualified to be governor. I am more qualifed to be governor than Gov. Wike. To the glory of God, I have 9 university degrees. I have been a member of House of Representatives and elected twice to the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. I have been an aide of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. So, I don’t understand who is more qualified to be governor between me and Wike. But that is not the case, I need to educate Wike that Kogi is not Rivers state. We will never serve ‘oluwa Wike’ because he believes he is a god. Rivers people can continue to serve ‘oluwa Wike’, but Kogi people will never do so.
”Moreover, today ask yourself, what is the value of Wike’s support? Wike refused to support our beloved Adeleke and PDP in Osun state yet he emerged as governor. Wike supported Sandy Ono in Cross River state, spent money , bought cars and did everything for him but Sandy lost. He supported also Albert, my colleague and friend in Akwa Ibom state but he lost. Wike funded Gov. Ortom, the governors of Abia and Enugu states. The three(3) governors lost those senatorial districts. So, you now ask yourself, what is the value of Wike’s support when even everybody he has supported lost. When Odili and Amaechi were governors, Rivers state was churning out one million votes. But shamefully everything Wike brought in the last election for the party he supported in Rivers sate was two hundred and something votes. After rigging, malicious pratices and introduction of violence, he could bring only two hundred and something thousand votes for his preferred candidate.
”My only advice for Wike and I am doing this from the Christian perspective as a child of God because we need to educate people who are not normal. We need to advise, counsel and pray for them. As a counsellor in the celestical realm, my advice for Wike is when you drink, don’t talk, when you talk, don’t drink. That will help him a lot to come out of these malicious practices.
”Moreover, he said if I win the ticket of PDP, he will not support PDP. There is no time in history that Wike supported PDP in Kogi state. In 2019, when my sister Natasha was running for the Senate in Kogi central, he supported Gov. Yahaya Bello’s candidate over Natasha, a member of his own party, because there is a diabolic relationship between him and Bello, to the extent that Yahaya Bello, the worst governor in the history of this country and Kogi state, whose performance is F9 parallel, Wike gave him an award and celebrated him . We know they have a diabolic relationship . Wike is the mentor of Yahaya Bello and he has educated him that I have given my governorship ticket to my Accountant General because that is the only way your crime can be protected. That is exactly what I heard Yahaya Bello is trying to do now in Kogi state to appoint his accountant general as gubernatorial candidate. Wike will be alive when I will be governor. Wike has only few weeks to leave as governor, instead of him to concentrate on how he is going to face life outside government because already he is on his way to prison. Infact, his prison uniform will have embroidery because of the way he has stolen the resources and patrimony of the Rivers people. I am sitting down here, any other interview, if he will not wash his hands out of Kogi state and leave Dino alone, I will open my can of worms and maggots on Wike. I am waiting for him.
”Wike is a pretentious character, a liar and has no iota of integrity. Wike was calling me when Atiku Abubakar was to announce his running mate. I have records. He called me 19 time in 2 hours, begging us to convince Atiku to make him the Vice Presidential candidate . So, when I see him lying on TV saying because of southern Nigeria, I laugh. A man that was begging, lobbying and promising us heaven and earth to convince Atiku to the extent that he was at the airport, calling and waiting for me to tell him that Atiku has picked him. The man who was so desperate to get the VP ticket, because he didn’t get it, he now started the southern agenda”
