The abducted 67-year-old Chief Imam of the Uso community, in Akure North council area of Ondo state, Alhaji Ibrahim Bodunde Oyinlade, has regained his freedom.
Oyinlade who was kidnapped on Saturday at his farm along the Owo-Akure Expressway by no fewer than five gunmen, gained his freedom on Sunday evening.
A family member of the victim disclosed that the abductors demanded N10m ransom for his release.
However, the family member did not state whether the ransom was paid before the cleric was released.
“Though the abductors contacted the family in the morning on Sunday and demanded N10m, but to God be the glory, he was set free this evening”, she disclosed.
