The National Welfare Secretary of All Progressives Congress (APC), Friday Nwosu, says the maladministration of Okezie Ikpeazu’s government under the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has plunged Abia State into despondency and citizens hope that the APC would save the situation.
Nwosu disclosed this while speaking during a meeting held at Umukabia Okpuala, in Umuahia North Local Government Area of the state.
Speaking also at the meeting, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the State, Ikechi Emenike, said his message of liberation would reach the nook and cranny of the state as his campaign kicks off.
He noted that the campaign council would be composed of no fewer than 700 persons drawn from all the 184 wards in the state.
He urged party leaders and stakeholders to sustain their winning mentality, stating that the liberation movement he was leading is divinely ordained to set Abia on the path of genuine development.
“God has watered the ground on which we have planted in Abia and now we are waiting for our harvest of victory coming up in 2023.
“The truth of the matter is that we are on solid ground. We are on the right path hence nobody should be bothered by the distractions.”
In her own remarks, the APC deputy governorship candidate, Rev. Gloria Akara, encouraged Abia APC leaders and members to imbibe Emenike’s plan to make the state better.
“High Chief Emenike really wants to change the narrative in Abia. I see victory; I see victory ahead. This is our season to run with him and make Abia better,” she said.
