Some students of the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Rivers state, have been suspended from studies,pending the outcome of the investigation of their matters by the Students Disciplinary Committee.
The students are Nwankwo Sunday, Okwe Michael Amaogechi and George ThankGod Tamunoimana of the departments of Political Science, G & C and Computer Science, respectively.
They were said to be in possession of guns and attempted to rob their fellow students.
Their suspensions were contained in a statement issued by the management of the University.
The statement read; “The Management of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education has suspended the following students from studies, pending the outcome of the investigation of their matters by the Students Disciplinary Committtee:
- Nwankwo Sunday Gift – UE/2018/POL. SC/B.Sc.ED4/0852 – Dept. of Pol. Sc. – unlawful possession of locally made pistol and attempted robbery of his fellow student’s mobile phone at gunpoint. Handed over to State SIIB.
- Okwe Michael Amaogechi – U/2019/5848 – Dept. of G & C – unlawful possession of locally made pistol and attempted robbery of his fellow student’s mobile phone at gunpoint. Handed over to State SIIB.
- George ThankGod Tamunoimana – UE/2018/COMP/B.Sc.ED4/0201 – Dept. of Computer Sc. – attacked and caused bodily harm to one of his fellow students with his gang suspected to be cultists.
“Their names have been submitted to DSS for profiling”.
