While most communities around Zuba and environs have battled constant power outages in recent time just like every other persons in Nigeria, one institution remained unshaken: bright, secure, and fully operational 24/7.
It is the Zuba Divisional Police Headquarters.
And behind this transformation is a new kind of police leadership, one that thinks differently, acts decisively, and serves with honor.
THE ARCHITECT OF CHANGE: CSP OGU CALEB IKECHUKWU.
Four months ago, CSP Ogu Caleb Ikechukwu, a quintessential reformed officer with an enlightened, progressive mindset, assumed duty as the Divisional Police Officer, Zuba Division.
What he inherited was familiar to many stations across the country: an aging structure, a dilapidated roof, and zero steady power supply.
But CSP Ogu is not wired to complain. He is wired to reform.
During a chat at the station, he put it plainly:
“My brother, the security of lives and property and the promotion of peaceful coexistence is our number one mandate. As a security officer, I carried out a physical assessment and discovered there was no steady electricity here. It is extremely risky for a police station to operate in darkness. It endangers our personnel and jeopardizes our duty to the public.”

Today, Zuba Division runs on a fully installed solar-powered system* that keeps the station lit and operational round the clock.

I therefore make a passionate appeal to the*Inspector General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, corporate bodies, philanthropists, and well-meaning sons and daughters of Zuba to partner in the renovation of this critical facility.
Security is everybody’s business.
SALUTING THE LEADERSHIP OF THE NPF*
This progress at Zuba is a direct reflection of strong leadership at the top.
I heartily commend IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu for his bold reforms, his focus on officer welfare, and his drive toward a modern, accountable, and citizen-friendly Police Force.
I also commend CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi for his strategic deployment of reform-minded officers and his hands-on supervision across the FCT. His leadership is restoring public trust and dignity to policing in the Federal Capital Territory.
CONCLUSION
The story of Zuba Division is the story of what is possible when the right officer is placed in the right place.
