A Canada based Nigerian, Olufemi Adegbulugbe, has described the trip to Lagos state to visit President Bola Tinubu by state governors as a waste of public funds.
The governors under the aegis of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) paid a New Year’s visit to the President at his Ikoyi residence in Lagos state on Wednesday.
But the Canada based Nigerian in a statement made available to media houses, queried the trip, saying,”this was not governance, but political idol worshipping.
“The travel and man-hour cost of Governors from across the country, traveling to Lagos to greet the President in his private residence while he is on holiday is nothing but a waste of public funds.
“Some of the Governors arrived Lagos in chartered private jets funded by public funds.
“This is not Governance, but political idol worshipping and political halleluyah!
From Kano, Borno, Imo, Rivers, Kogi, Edo. Haba!
“Even the Vice President left the federal capital to go and pay homage to the President in his private residence in Lagos.
“There is need for True Federalism”, he said.
