More reactions have continued to trail the defection of Rivers state Governor Sir Siminialayi Fubara to the All Progressives Congress(APC).

Some individuals and group that reacted to the development had stated that the governor’s defection was long expected and not a surprise to many.
In his reaction posted on the social media, today, Port Harcourt based political analyst, Mr. Dagogo Ijuye, opined that the defection has caught the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barr. Nyesom Wike in his own trap.
His words; “Now, both the PDP and APC are fast sliding off the grip of Nyesom Wike.
“The dilemma is: does he formally abandon the PDP and officially join the APC or does he continue with his membership of the hermaphroditic PDAPC?
“If Wike chooses to formally abandon the PDP and officially join the APC now, it will amount to his unconditional surrender to the Makinde-led faction of the PDP. It will amount to a resounding defeat for Wike and an endorsement of his expulsion from the PDP for which he was recently issued a well-earned certificate of expulsion.
“On the other hand, if Wike chooses to physically remains in the PDP to see to the party’s final destruction, then he must be ready to see through all PDP court cases on the recent national convention.
“This cases are currently at the courts of first instance and will take a year or more to end at the Supreme Court, during which time, Wike will be unable to officially move to APC in the crucial electoral period of the next one year.
“He will therefore find it politically difficult to effectively play leadership role in APC – a party in which he is not officially registered.
“So, what does Nyesom Wike do now?
“Does he continue to chase two rabbits at the same time and lose both? Does he accept defeat in the PDP and defect formally to the APC? Does he remain physically in the PDP and lose control in the APC?
“The choice is Wike’s and time is fast running out.
“What will it profit Tinubu to gain Wike and lose SIM who has a bigger means and stake in 2027?
