An 18-year-old girl, One Miracle Otuoye who was allegedly raped by her father is calling for justice.
Speaking to newsmen in an interview in Port Harcourt,on Thursdays, the girl called on the Rivers state Commissioner of Police, Okon Effiong-Okon to prevail on the personal attached to State Criminal Investigation Department to charge her father to court over the petition of assault and rape against him.
She narrated how her father first sponsored termination of her five months pregnancy before raping her.
She alleged that she and her mother arrested her father and the officers handling the matter granted him bail without proper investigation and that the police have been trying to sweep the matter under the carpet.
She also called on welll meaning Nigerians to intervene to ensure justice in the matter.
When contacted, officers at the State CID disclosed that the matter was still under investigation, adding that information revealed that the suspect has been arrested by police in Owerri, Imo State over his alleged involvement in destruction of properties of a community youth leader.
In the meantime, attempt to reach out to the accused proved abortive as at time of filing this report..
