Four people, including three children, died after allegedly consuming poisoned food in the Magama Jibia area of Katsina State.
This was contained in a statement by security and counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, posted on X.com on Thursday.
He added that the perpetrator of the act was arrested alongside two other suspects.
“The victims were Hussaina Ayuba, Ahmed Ayuba, and Nana Ayuba, who died while receiving treatment at Jibia General Hospital after allegedly consuming poisoned food.
“A fourth victim, Hafsat Ayuba, 12, is currently recuperating and still under medical care.
“The sources disclosed that a 20-year-old woman, Fatima Abdulkadir, who prepared the spaghetti noodles allegedly consumed by the victims, along with two others, has been arrested in connection with the incident,” he wrote.
He further stated that the police had visited the scene.
“The bodies of the deceased have been released to their relatives for burial according to Islamic rites. An investigation is ongoing,” he concluded.
