Following establishment of a Security Advisory Council and a Security Trust Fund Board to enhance security measures in Abia state, the State Governor, Alex Otti, has appointed the former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Azubuike Onyeabo Ihejirika (Rtd) and Stanley Obiamarije as chairmen of the council and the board, respectively.
Retired DIG of Police, Uche Ivy Okoronkwo is to serve as the Vice Chairman of the security advisory council while other members include; Mr. Ray Nkemdirim, a security expert, Maj. Gen. Abel Obi Umahi, rtd, AVM Emmanuel Chukwu, rtd. Also, Maj Gen. J.O. Nwaogbo, rtd and Navy Cmdr Macdonald Ubah, rtd, who will serve as the secretary of the security council.
In the same vein, other members of the trust fund board to be headed by Obiamarije are Owelle Greg Okafor, Mrs Ngozi Ekeoma, Johnson Chukwu, Mrs Josephine Nweze, Mrs Nkechi Obi and Mr Bank-Anthony Okoroafor.
A statement issued on Friday and signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Kazie Uko, said the appointments take immediate effect.
