Chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze ,  has described Mr. Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Media and Policy communication as an unstable character, who should be disregarded by Nigerians.

In a statement made available to the media, Eze
said Nigerians were appalled by the reckless prediction by Bwala  about Atiku coming fourth in the 2027 Presidential election.

He recalled  that Bwala who once canonized Atiku, has now turned around to speak against him as witnessed in a television programme, recently.

According to Eze, Bwala’s prediction does not represent neither objective analysis nor political reality in the country.

“I watched with utter disbelief and amusement the recent outburst by Mr. Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Media and Policy Communication, wherein he arrogantly predicted that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential Candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), would finish a distant fourth position in the 2027 presidential election.

“Such reckless hallucinations do not ordinarily deserve a response, coming from a man whose political consistency has become a subject of public ridicule, but considering the source of the statement, it is necessary to remind Nigerians of the true nature of the opportunistic fair-weather politician – Daniel Bwala, and why no serious political observer should take his hubristic pronouncements seriously.

“The same Daniel Bwala who today shamelessly attacks Atiku Abubakar is the very individual who, during the 2023 presidential campaign, practically canonized the former Vice President. As one of Atiku’s frontline media aides and spokespersons, Bwala flooded television stations, radio platforms, newspapers, and social media spaces with endless praises of Atiku’s competence, experience, leadership capacity, economic knowledge, and preparedness to govern Nigeria.

“At that time, Bwala portrayed Atiku as the most qualified presidential candidate in the race. He defended him passionately and aggressively against critics. Nigerians listened as he repeatedly argued that Atiku represented the best option to rescue the nation from economic collapse, insecurity, unemployment, and national disunity.

” The question Nigerians must therefore ask is simple: What exactly has changed?

“Has Atiku suddenly become less competent?

“Has he become less experienced?

“Has he become less patriotic?

“Has he lost the qualities that Daniel Bwala once advertised to Nigerians?

“The answer is an emphatic NO.

“What changed was not Atiku Abubakar; what changed was Daniel Bwala’s feeding arrangement.

“The moment a plate of political food was placed before him by the Tinubu administration, every principle, conviction, and loyalty he claimed to possess evaporated into thin air. He abandoned the political ideals he once preached and crossed over to the very camp he spent months criticizing.

“This is why Nigerians now see him as the perfect example of a fair-weather politician whose political philosophy is dictated not by principles but by personal convenience and stomach infrastructure.

“History is replete with individuals who traded conviction for comfort, integrity for appointments, and loyalty for patronage. Daniel Bwala has unfortunately chosen to join that unenviable league.

“His latest attack on Atiku Abubakar exposes not political insight but political desperation. It is an attempt to please his current employers by insulting a man whose political platform he once promoted with almost religious zeal.

“It is even more disturbing that a presidential spokesman, whose primary responsibility is to communicate government policies and explain the administration’s performance to Nigerians, has now reduced himself to the role of a political fortune teller and election prophet.

“Rather than spending his days predicting the outcome of an election that is still months away, Nigerians expect Daniel Bwala to explain why hunger has become a permanent resident in many Nigerian homes.

“He should explain why inflation continues to punish ordinary citizens.

“He should explain why businesses are collapsing daily.

“He should explain why insecurity remains a major concern across several parts of the country.

“He should explain why millions of young Nigerians are losing hope in the future.

“Those are the issues that should occupy the attention of a presidential spokesman— not engaging in cheap political propaganda against opposition figures.

“What is particularly laughable is the confidence with which Bwala made his prediction. One thing is sure about the 2027 election, the outcome will be determined by the people and not by presidential aides seeking relevance.

“The same political class that dismissed opposition forces in the past has repeatedly been shocked by the verdict of Nigerians. No one possesses a crystal ball capable of determining the outcome of the 2027 elections.

“The growing coalition of patriotic Nigerians determined to rescue the nation from its current challenges should not be underestimated by anyone. Across party lines, ethnic divides, religious affiliations, and regional boundaries, Nigerians are increasingly united by a common desire for competent leadership, economic recovery, national security, and accountable governance.

“Instead of addressing these realities, Daniel Bwala has chosen the path of mockery and political grandstanding.

“The irony remains breathtaking. The same Atiku Abubakar whom Bwala now dismisses as politically irrelevant is the same Atiku he once described as Nigeria’s most experienced and most prepared presidential candidate.

“Such dramatic and convenient reversals only diminish Bwala’s credibility and reinforce public perception that his politics is driven more by personal advancement than ideological conviction.

“As someone who once occupied the front row in Atiku’s political family, Daniel Bwala knows better than most people the political strength, national reach, and enduring appeal of the former Vice President. His attempt to rewrite history simply because he now serves another administration insults the intelligence of Nigerians who witnessed his vigorous defence of Atiku only a few years ago.

“I therefore urge Nigerians to treat Bwala’s comments with the contempt they deserve. They represent neither objective analysis nor political reality. They are merely the predictable utterances of a political convert seeking validation from his new political congregation.

“The 2027 election will not be decided by propaganda merchants or political jobbers. It will be decided by Nigerians based on the realities they experience daily and their assessment of those seeking to lead them.

” Bwala should remember that political appointments are temporary, but public records are permanent. Nigerians have not forgotten what he said about Atiku yesterday, and they will not be deceived by what he says about him today.

“The tragedy of political opportunism is that while appointments may come and go, credibility once lost is difficult to regain”, Eze stated.
