The Presidential Candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has urged Edo people to remain steadfast in PDP as such will bring accelerated development than being in the All Progressives Congress(APC).
Speaking at the Party’s Presidential campaign rally in Edo, on Saturday, the flagbearer said the people stand to benefit more under his administration than being in APC.
“Edo people, you are known to be PDP: Continue to stick to PDP. PDP will be loyal to you. PDP will pay you back. You have seen how APC has destroyed the economy of this country. Go to any PDP state, you will find development in infrastructure, education and in everything. But go to APC state, you won’t find anything there. We’ll fulfil our promises”, he said.
Atiku promised to carry every part of the country along in the scheme of things if elected as President in 2023.
Furthermore, he said he will restore security, revive the economy and establish an efficient rail system in the country.
His words; ” We are going to give every part of this country a sense of belonging. You will not be excluded in anything.
” We promise to restore security. Whatever it is going to take us to do, we shall restore the security in this country so that you can travel day and nght and go to your farm.. We will put more policemen on the street. We will equip and fortify them. Since we have promised to give powers to states and local governments, you can also have your own local police. We shall make sure your local police do not harass you.
“We have said we will send all our eligible children to school. Every child must go to school. If you remember, during PDP years, we established primary school eduction, compulsory from primary to secondary. But this government is not keeping to that promise. Our universities will not go on strike.
“We promise to revive the economy of this country. We will make sure that our factories and industries resume production. We will make sure that there are enough jobs for our youths who are passing out from the schools. We will work together with private sector to make sure that industries, particularly here in Edo resume operation so that there will be enough jobs for you.
“We have promised the infrastructural development of this country particularly here in Edo. We will make sure all these roads are rehabilitated and they are motorable.
“What is important in a large country like Nigeria is to have an efficient rail system. We will together with private sector establish rail system so that people can move freely as well as goods and services”, he stated.
