A 59-year-old man identified as Ogbonnaya has been arrested for allegedly leading an international drug trafficking network linked to N1.4 billion worth of illicit drugs by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency(NDLEA) in Lagos.
Ogbonnaya who is said to have been on the run for 17 years,was accused of coordinating major drug shipments from Nigeria to South Korea, laundering proceeds through electronics imports, and recruiting couriers across Africa.
The NDLEA has vowed to keep targeting drug lords, as its Chairman, Buba Marwa reiterates the agency’s commitment in dismantling global trafficking syndicates operating from Nigeria.
