Some Port Harcourt residents have expressed doubt over an sms message purportedly sent out by the People Democratic party presidential candidate, Alh Atiku Abubakar requesting them to send their account details to receive N75,000 empowermnet from him.
A resident simply identified as David told Metronetworknews that he received the text message at about 1:50pm on Tuesday.
The text in circulation sighted by Metronetworknews reads; “People Democratic (PDP)!!! Send Account (FCMB; Union, Keystone) to receive N75,000 from Atiku Abubakar Empowerment. Call 09163116689”.
Another resident who preferred to remain anomymous said he also received the same suspicious message but deleted it without opening it as it could be from scammers who are trying to trick people to fall for their scam.
“I didn’t apply for it. So, how come they are asking for my account? I think it is from sammers”, he opined.
All efforts to speak with the Atiku Abubakar Presidential campaign spokesman, Senator Dino Melaye on the development proved abortive as of the time of filing this report.
