Unknown youths have reportedly beaten the Chairman of Katcha local government area of Niger state, Danlamin Abdullahi Saku, over N1.3m debt.
The chairman was said to have borrowed the money from an derly friend in the local government for over one year and refused to pay despite several demands made to him.
It was gathered that trouble started in Katcha on Sunday when the council boss was said to have slapped one of the boys sent to him by the owner of the money.
It was also gathered that the angered boys went back to mobilize, came back and descended on the chairman in retaliation by beating him to a state of unconsciousness.
The Chairman had to be rushed to the hospital where he is said to be recuperating.
