Atleast two vigilantes have been reported killed while several residents, including a newly-wedded couple were abducted after suspected terrorists attacked Shola Quarters located in Katsina metropolis.
Metronetworknews gathered that the assailants stormed the quarters which is located behind the former Katsina Federal Medical Centre, now Umaru Musa Yar’adua University Teaching Hospital around 1a.m and operated unhindered till about 2:30a.m on Sunday, before a vigilante group came to the rescue.
But the group eventually lost two of their members after being overpowered by the bandits in a fierce gun duel that force them to retreat.
A resident who pleaded to remain anonymous disclosed that the hoodlums, in the bid to gain access into apartments, smashed the wall of the building.
He added that aside from the wounded vigilante members, scores of residents were also kidnapped while those injured in the attack were receiving treatment at the teaching hospital.
