Gunmen have reportedly attack a security post at the boundary between Asari-Toru and Emohua Local Government Areas of Rivers state, killing atleast one soldier and wounding two others.
Metronetworknews gathered that the attack occurred in the early hours of Sunday.
The Chairman of Akuku-Toru LGA, Rowland Sekibo, who had visited the scene confirmed the incident.
He said the soldiers were ambushed close to Ahiankwo market, adding that the injured soldiers were in critical condition.
A source who had visited the Military Hospital on Aba road, Port Harcourt, said the two survivors were brought into the Emergency Unit of the hospital and are now receiving treatment.
All attempts to speak with the spokesman of the Six Division of Nigeria Army, Port Harcourt, Lieutenant Colonel Charles Ekeocha, proved abortive.
