No fewer than 89 people were killed on Thursday in a drone attack on a military college in Syria.
The attack hit a crowded military graduation ceremony in the Syrian city of Homs.
The strike killed civilians, including six children, as well as military personnel, and there were concerns the death toll could rise as many of the wounded were in serious condition, Health Minister Hassan al-Ghabash said.
No group has claimed responsibility for attack.
However, In a statement, the Syria’s military accused insurgents “backed by known international forces” of the attack.
It said the attack was “unprecedented,” and vowed to respond “with full force and determination to these terrorist organizations, wherever they exist.”
“There were dozens of wounded soldiers, with critical injuries among the invited families, including women and children, in addition to a number of college students participating in the graduation,” the ministry said in the statement.
